New York, US
As a New York socialite, Maxwell used to live in a lavish townhouse in the city. But the property reportedly sold in 2016 for $ 15 million (£ 11.6 million).
Attorney Spencer Kuvin says New York is likely one of the places most “familiar and comfortable” to Maxwell.
Massachusetts, US
Earlier this year, Maxwell was reported to be hiding out at a secluded £ 2.3 million beachfront mansion in Massachusetts, owned by tech CEO Scott Borgerson – rumoured to be her boyfriend.
She was said to be going by the name “G“, rather than her full name.
But in August, her sister Christine was spotted packing up bags a few miles away from the property, amid claims Maxwell hadn’t been seen in the area for a few weeks.
Provence, France
Also in August, there was a reported sighting of Maxwell in France’s Provence region, where one of her sisters reportedly used to live before selling her home in 2015.
Maxwell was born in France – in the commune of Maisons-Laffitte, around a nine-hour drive away.
California, US
The same month, pictures emerged of Maxwell sitting at an In-N-Out burger joint in Los Angeles. Many have speculated that the images were either staged or faked.
London, England
Maxwell is thought to still own a mews house in central London, where she used to host parties. She is reportedly renting out the property – but hasn’t been seen by locals for a decade.
It is at this property that Prince Andrew was pictured with his arm around then-17-year-old Virginia Roberts’s waist in 2001.
Santa Catarina, Brazil
It was recently claimed that Maxwell had been traced to the Brazilian riviera, along with Epstein’s friend and alleged “fixer” Jean-Luc Brunel (https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/10009099/jeffrey-epstein-jean-luc-brunel-found-south-america/), who has also disappeared.
It is unclear whether she has any previous links to the region.
