This is the internet premiere of the documentary by filmmaker Simone de Vries, who followed Rutger Hauer around the world over a period of several years in Hollywood and Friesland, and on different movie sets.

It is a close up on Rutger’s life and career and the man himself.

Amongst the touching moments, are the meetings with Rutger and Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema (the real ‘Soldier of Orange’), whom he considers a second father, friend and mentor.

‘Blond, Blue Eyes‘ premiered in Utrecht during the Netherlands Film Festival, in October 2006.
