Door de Geallieerde Bombardementen in de Herfst van 1944 op Duitse Bunkers om de Toegang naar Antwerpen Veilig te Stellen, hadden de Toch Al in Slechte Staat zijnde Zeeuwse Dijken het nog eens Extra Zwaar te Verduren Gekregen. Na de Bevrijding vonden Talrijke Deskundigen, waaronder Dr Ir Johan van Veen, dan ook, dat de Dijken metSpoed Hersteld moesten worden, want een Ramp lag op de Loer. Maar Daar was Op dat Moment Geen Geld voor, omdat de KolonialeOorlog in Nederlands Indië ruim 830 miljoen gulden per jaar kostte.
In september 1948 werd er zelfs 2 miljard gulden Voor Uitgetrokken. Dus het Herstel van de Dijken moest nog maar Even Uitgesteld worden, vond de Regering, want het Win Gewest Indië moest Koste wat het Kost Behouden Blijven.
Na Bijna Vijf jaar Vergeefse Strijd werdNederlands Indië op 27 december 1949 officieel de Republiek Indonesië. Maar Nu moesten de Meer dan 125.000 Nederlandse Soldaten nog naar Nederland worden Vervoerd. Iok dat kostte een Kapitaal. Pas Medio 1951 was het Troepen Transport Afgerond.
Waar de DeskundigenAl Jjaren voor Gewaarschuwd hadden, werd Bewaarheid toen tijdens eenHevige Storm in de Nacht van 31 januari op 1 februari 1953 de Nog Steeds Niet Herstelde Dijken Door Braken. Een Groot Deel van Zeeland, West Brabant en de Zuid Hollandse Eilanden liep Onder Water, waarbij Meer dan 1.800 Mensen en Duizenden Dieren Verdronken. 100.000 Mensen Verloren hun Huis en Bezittingen. Opgeofferd om Nederlands Koloniale Wingewest te Behouden. Ook het DagbladDe Waarheid was die Mening Toe Gedaan. Volgens die Krant had de RampNiet hoeven te Gebeuren, wanneer de Dijken waren Verhoogd, maar het Herstel van het Koloniale Gezag werd voor de ‘Wederopbouw’ Blijkbaar van Groter Belang Geacht.
