Voetbal & Seks, een tentoonstelling van Jos Houweling en Joop Stoop in Nieuw Dakota te Amsterdam. Op elkaars schouders staan om het toeval te omarmen. Samenwerken is jezelf veranderen, veranderen is de motor van de kunst. Wat begon met een reactie van Joop Stoop op het boek Bal & Voet van Jos Houweling groeide uit tot een samenwerking. Joop scheurde een pagina uit het boek en maakte er een tekening bij. Van het een kwam het volgende: volgens Joop doet voetbal aan netkousen denken en volgens Jos doen netkousen aan netkousen denken. Voetbal en seks zijn de pilaren onder onze samenleving. Naast de samenwerkingen tonen Jos en Joop ook eigen werk: Joop de serie Moeders Herberg (The Mother With Inn), gemaakt in Frankrijk, en Jos Het grote elftal, gemaakt op zijn computer. Samen groter. Jos Houweling & Joop Stoop – Soccer & Sex
Opening: Sunday December 16th 2018, 4 – 7 p.m., with a speech by journalist and city counselor John Oomkes.
New Year’s event: Friday January 11th, 5 p.m.
Depending on each other to embrace coincidence. Collaborating implies changing yourself and change is the force that drives art. What started as commentary by Joop Stoop on Jos Houwelings’ book Ball & Foot has turned into an artistic collaboration. Joop tore out a page from the book and illustrated it. Then one thing led to another: according to Joop soccer is reminiscent of fishnet stockings, according to Jos fishnet stockings are reminiscent of fishnet stockings. Soccer and sex are the pillars of our society. Besides their collaborative works, both artists will also showcase individual pieces: Joop will exhibit his series The Mother With Inn, made in France, and Jos The Great Soccer Team, made on his computer. Together they are greater.
