‘Y pleut, l’soleil luit,
Ch’è ducasse (= fête) in Paradis.’

English summary

In Finland they speak also about a wedding in heaven, where they drink, which is also known in Livonia and Norway. In Spain also the wedding of the Lord is known, while in Turkey there is a wedding in Paradise. It is the wedding of the Prophet and the angels or huris. They also say, ‘The wedding of the peri-daughter is being celebrated,’ or ‘the peris (fairies) celebrate a wedding and amuse themselves.’ There is a party in heaven, they say in French-speaking Belgian Hennegau. And in Sweden they say that there is a (great) banquet in heaven, in God’s kingdom in heaven, and in Finland that they are having a feast in heaven. And also in the Philippines there is a feast in heaven. The French have a nursery rhyme: ‘It rains, it becomes wet, it is the feast of the frog. It rains and the sun shines, it is the feast of the rainbow. It rains and it is beautiful weather, it is the feast of the farmers.’
