The former English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson was seen arriving at the Central Criminal Court in London on Thursday, to hear the sentencing in his contempt of court retrial, after he was found guilty on Friday.
Robinson advanced through the gathered crowd before entering the building. He was wearing a t-shirt that read “Convicted of journalism” on the front and “Britain = North Korea” on the back.
In May 2018, he was sentenced to 13 months in jail after live streaming footage outside court of defendants in a criminal trial. The court of appeal then overturned the ruling freeing Robinson after only two months in prison.
The case was then referred to the attorney general, who stated that it was in the public interest to bring fresh proceedings. Robinson says the case against him is politically motivated.
