George Orwell (1903 – 1950) A Life in Pictures is a docudrama about the life story of the British author, novelist, essayist, and journalist.

Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. This documentary is important because his insights into human society are relevant to the current world political affairs. He was a man of strong opinions who wrote about major topics related to the political views and historical movements of the 20th century. His views are still very relevant to our times, the first quarter of the 21st century and it is also a warning.

His best known novels are “Animal Farm” and “Nineteen Eighty Four“. Both novels have been turned into films and have enjoyed immense popularity.
Orwell’s work had a great impact on popular and political culture. Many of his neologisms entered the language together with the term Orwellian, which describes a situation, idea, or societal condition identified as being destructive to the welfare of a free and open society.

The New York Times ranked Orwell second on a list of “The 50 greatest British writers of the 20th century and in 2016, his statue was installed in front of the BBC in London.
