Description: SCHOLTE, Rob (Dutch 1958). (30 man kunst in W139), 1981/1982. A set of 4 gouaches, hand-painted exhibition announcements, each inscribed ‘Rob Scholte / 2 jan. t/m 30 jan. 1982 / 12 t/m 24 uur / Warmoesstraat 139 Amsterdam’ (along the lower edge). Minor wear to the edges, else good.
Notes:
Hand-painted announcements for his first exhibition. In January 1982 Scholte participated in the exhibition ’30 man kunst’ of the art squat W139 in Amsterdam, which he was a member of during his studies at the Rietveld. Later the same year, still at Warmoesstraat 139, he presented his breakthrough project ‘Rom 87′ together with Sandra Derks. A very unexpected treasure from a volatile era, scarce relics from the threshold of Rob Scholte’s artistic career.
