00:32 going on in Syria. MERCOURIS Let S go straight in, because obviously we ve had dramatic events in Syria, A collapse of the Assad
00:39 Government. Assad is now in Moscow. Lots of
000:45 news coming from Syria it self. Um, Professor Sachs, um, let S go straight in,
00:50 since I know you have, Uh, very time limited today. Thank you, by the way, for joining us. SACHS Great to be with you, as
00:57 always. MERCOURIS Tell me, let S have you tell us your views, your, your views, and then we
01:02 can take it from there, your overall views. SACHS I, I, I think the, Uh, interesting, Uh,
01:09 starting point is A statement by, Uh, Netanyahu A couple of days ago. He gave A
01:15 press conference. He said that this is A completion of A step by step process
01:22 that Israel has been pursuing, Uh, and I think that that is, Uh, not, Uh, bragging, if I could put it in
01:30 that odd way. I think that that is an accurate statement of what, Uh, has
01:36 happened. But it S not only an Israeli effort of the last few months with its
01:44 war on Hamas and Hezbollah, which dramatically weakened the Military
01:51 base of the Assad Government, which depended on Hezbollah for its Military
01:58 backing, but this is A, A campaign of Israel, as Netanyahu himself said, that is
02:05 to remake the Middle East, that goes back 30 years actually. Now, let me state at
02:12 the outset, I think Netanyahu is A madman, Uh, I think what, Uh, Israel has done, is, Uh,
02:20 destructive beyond belief, but the point is, Uh, that there has been A plan, Uh, the
02:27 plan has been to remake the Middle East in Israel S image, if, if you will, Uh, and
02:34 already back in 1996, in A Neoc Con paper written for the new Israeli Prime
02:42 Minister at the time Benjamin Netanyahu, Uh, called “Clean Break” [to replace the 1993 Oslo Accords, this plan by the Zionist Reaganite American Richard Perle, for Israel S Prime Minister Netanyahu, for America and Israel to impose “Western Values” and pure Capitalism, upon the Muslim Middle East, by overthrowing and replacing pro Palestinian, which are the pre dominantly Shiite, Governments there]. This was described,
02:48 the clean break was A clean break of the Middle East, that Israel, of course
02:54 meaning the United States, Uh, militarily backing Israel, would take out Israel S
03:01 enemies, Uh, and this has been, Uh, an Operational Plan, strangely enough, Uh, at
03:09 least since 9/11. Uh, we have A remarkable statement by
03:17 General Wesley Clark, Uh, that is very well known, that after the 9/11 Attack,
03:25 Wesley Clark visited the Pentagon and he was shown A piece of paper that said seven Countries would be, Uh,
03:34 overthrown, Uh, in 5 years, and the List was Iraq, Syria, Uh,
03:42 Iran, Uh, Lebanon, Somalia, Sudan, and Libya, Uh, and,
03:50 Uh, Clark expressed befuddlement and bewilderment, what does this have to do
03:55 with 9/11, Uh, and the answer was, Uh, we re making the Middle East over again. This
04:02 was the the Clean Break Strategy from 1996 now to be implemented and in, Uh,
04:12 September 2001, Uh, though Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. The decision was
04:20 made immediately that, Uh, to implement this remake of the Middle East. The first
04:27 Invasion would be of Iraq. This by itself is interesting, just as A footnote, the
04:33 reason that they chose Iraq first was not because of Saddam or Weapons of Mass Destruction which they knew did not
04:39 exist, but rather there was A legal, Uh, fiction that they could use, A
04:47 1998 Iraq Liberation Act, which had been passed by Congress and signed by
04:52 President Clinton, that made it the Law of the Land that Saddam Hussein should be removed from power, so they thought
04:59 legally literally, I mean, you do something completely lawless, Uh,
05:05 initiating War, but you look for A legal fig leaf, Uh, and that was, Uh, why Iraq
05:12 first, but the idea [though not stated in that Law] was that Syria would be overthrown immediately afterwards, Uh,
05:17 and then immediately after that would be the rest of the List, and what, Uh, has
05:23 been explained to me by Military individuals that were in the midst of
05:29 this is that the US Military got tied down in Iraq in an unexpected way with the
05:37 Insurgency, so they didn T move straight to take out Assad, which was supposed to happen in
05:43 2003. Uh, so this is quite interesting, Uh, what we re seeing in the last days is
05:48 part of A plan that goes back, Uh, more than 20 years [to 1996], it S, it sounds zany, but
05:55 this is, this is craziness, that we re dealing with. Uh, this is A plan for
06:00 taking out seven Regimes, and maybe I LL step back and then I LL, I LL take A
06:06 pause and turn it back over to you Alexander, but why, Uh, why do this, and
06:12 Netanyahu spelled this out in his Book in 1996 Fighting Terrorism and then in A
06:20 rather remarkable Speech that he gave in the United States on September 20th
06:26 2001 just after 9/11. He said don T fight
06:31 Terrorists by fighting the Terrorists, you fight Terrorists by fighting the
06:37 States that support them, so Hamas and Hezbollah are backed by Saddam Hussein,
06:46 they re backed by Assad, they re backed by Iran. Uh, in fact, it wasn T just the
06:52 Iranian Axis of Resistance back then, it was all of these States around, Uh,
07:00 Israel, that were supporting the Palestinian cause, and
07:05 Netanyahu S idea backed by the crazy violent repulsive Neo Cons, I hope I M
07:12 being clear, in the US Government, Uh said, yes we will remake the Middle East
07:20 by War, one after another, and, if you think about it, of course, Iraq was
07:27 2003, the War on Assad started in 2011, not everyone is aware of Operation
07:35 Timber Sycamore, but this is the CIA Operation to overthrow Assad under Obama,
07:42 and everyone should understand, it doesn T matter Democrats, Republicans, nice people
07:48 not nice people, America has One Foreign Policy, Uh, of continuity, and it is, has
07:54 nothing to do with, Democrats and Republicans, so Assad, Uh was 2011, the War
08:01 started but they didn T succeed in overthrowing Assad because he had backing from Russia which started
08:08 especially in 2015, Uh, then if you go down the rest of
08:14 the List, Somalia, well that was attacked by us Proxy by Ethiopia in 2006, Sudan
08:21 the United States broke Sudan into pieces, Uh, literally dividing it into
08:28 Sudan and South Sudan, with the clever Ploy of the United States to put all the
08:35 Oil Reserves in South Sudan, uh, not in North Sudan, which is now Bankrupt and in Starvation, and in Civil War Libya, in 2011, Uh Lebanon of course invaded
08:50 repeatedly by Israel including just recently, Uh, so, actually this vision has
08:58 been carried out and this is what Netanyahu was crowing about A couple of days, we
09:04 have remade the Middle East, we ve done it step by step, so just we should have
09:10 no doubt that this is part of A Long Term Strategy. Of
09:15 course there are Cameo appearances by Erdogan, he
09:21 wants Turkish influence in Syria, this definitely plays A role, I don T mean to
09:27 minimize that, but this is part of A Longstanding Plan, and the immediate
09:34 collapse which none of us saw coming, I don T know anyone that saw this except,
09:40 I suppose, inside the Israeli Intelligence Community and Uh no doubt
09:47 CIA and a few others. Hezbollah was the the backstop of, Uh, the Syrian
09:57 Regime, and the idea was, uh, of course, by
10:02 attacking Hezbollah and Lebanon and drawing Hezbollah Forces Uh into Lebanon
10:09 and blocking the Resupply of Hezbollah through the active Bombing of Syria in
10:15 recent weeks and through this Military action this was the the way to bring
10:22 down the Regime. It happened, I M sure, much faster than anybody anticipated. Now
10:28 Israel is invading Syria from the South West into the North East. Where it
10:34 stops, who knows? There are crazy people in Israel who say go on to
10:39 Damascus. MERCOURIS Well what they re going to do, it seems to me, is that they re going to create Chaos all around themselves, Uh,

Here is A superb description by Mercouris of the situation in Syria as of December 10th.

The entire US dominated world, which is to say the US Government and the Governments whose Foreign Relations are controlled by it, which is to say the US Empire, the US and its Colonies, is basically the Government that was installed on 25 July 1945 and continues to this day, and it S the Government that also created Israel in 1948. This is therefore One Government, but Israel remains dependent upon the US Government, for its Continued existence. For example, Israel S Slaughter of Gazans is being done with US made Weapons and Military Intelligence, and so it is Actually A Joint US and Israeli Operation. Israel S Jewish News Service reported on 27 November 2023:

Israel’s Dependence on the United States was Stated Bluntly by Retired IDF Major General Yitzhak Brick in an Interview Earlier This Week.

“All of Our Missiles, the Ammunition, the Precision Guided Bombs, All the Airplanes and Bombs, it S All from the US. The Minute They Turn Off the Tap, You Can T
Keep Fighting. You have No Capability. (…) Everyone Understands that We Can T Fight this War without the United States. Period.”

Furthermore, in many of the UN Security Council votes regarding Israel, and even UN General Assembly votes, only the US is protecting Israel from Legal Penalties, and from Resolutions condemning it. Israel is therefore already perilously close to Global Isolation, whereas the US is the largest Empire in All of World History. Israel may possibly control the US Government, but the US Government is unlikely to commit Suicide in order to protect it, and, Unlike with regard to the Member Nations of NATO, there is no US Treaty Commitment to Israel.

So, the Real Center of what ails the Entire World is not Israel, which is merely A Regional Power, but the US, which is still the only Global Super Power. Consequently, efforts such as to Boycott, Divest, and Sanction, or “BDS” Israel hit the wrong mark, if they even hit it at all. Indeed, just as RFK Jr expressed, Israel is the Primary Force that carries out in the Middle East the US Policies there. In that sense, such Movements as BDS are either gutless or ill targeted, like firing A Gun at A Person S toe, when the Real Target is the Person’s head.
