Ushio Shinohara – Boxing Painting Performance

2006, Ushio Shinohara, one of the founders of Japan’s late 50’s Neo-Dada movement, performs his famous “Boxing Painting” outside Ethan Cohen Fine Arts gallery in New York City. This was set up as a “challange match” with the young Japanese action painter, Ryoga Katsuma. (Of course… it was judged a draw!)
