All Quiet on the Western Front is A 1979 Anglo US Television Drama WWI Film. It Features Richard Thomas, Ernest Borgnine, Donald Pleasence, and Ian Holm. At the Start of World War I, Paul Baumer is A Young German Patriot, Eager to Fight. Indoctrinated with Propaganda at School, He and His Friends Eagerly Sign Up for the Army Soon after Graduation. But When the Horrors of War Soon Become Too Much to Bear, and As His Friends Die or Become Gravely Wounded, Paul Questions the Sanity of Fighting over A Few Hundreds Yards of War Torn Country Side.

“This Film had Just Won the Best Foreign Language Movie Award. Lewis Milestone’s 1930 Film was Nearly Perfect, So It Made No Sense to me to Remake It. This 2022 Version does Not Touch the Original as Far as Film Making is Concerned. It’s A Much Weaker Storyline, A Bit Unfocused. And in this German Version There is A Side Story about the Peace Negotiations, or Lack Thereof, Which is Entirely Unnecessary. The Original Version Spends Much More Time Developing the Characters, Which is A Must for an Effective Anti War Film. The Audience Must Care about These Guys or Else the Power is Diminished. This New Version Seems to Have Been Made to Show More Ways Soldiers were Killed, and to Make A Political Statement about the Germans Surrendering to the French. In Milestone’s Version he’s Focused on the Main Story, A Group of Teenage Boys are Propagandized to Enlist in the Horrible Human Crime of War. In Fact, in Milestone’s Original Version he has A Scene Where the Boys Wonder about How the War Started, Who Caused It? They Do Not Really Know. It’s Anti Political. It does Not Take A Side. The Original Movie was A Master Piece. This Version is Not.”
