The column ‘Name’ contains the alias (screen-name) of the informant, the column ‘Sex’ a guess for the sex (as this is seldom indicated; the portrait has standard a man’s head). The column age is the age-group which the informant has provided. The column ‘M’ indicates marital status: + = married; this is also based on a guess. The fifth column ‘Death (or else)’ contains the person who is deceased or between parenthesis other situations. The column ‘Sad’ has a + when the informant expressed sadness, or (+) when mention is made of distress or other negative feelings or circumstances. The column ‘God’ has a + when God is mentioned (or the Blessed Mother), ‘+’ when circumscribed, and (+) when implied. The column ‘Sign’ has a + when the word ‘sign’ is used.
On the internet I found a thread, called ‘Ladybugs – What Do They Mean When You See Them’. In a thread the leader is defining for the content of the other contributions. Therefore I give the leader in full, posted by weareonespirit, 51-55, female, on February 1, 2008:
“After my mother died, each of my two sisters and I saw a multitude of ladybugs in our houses around the same time. Since it was in the middle of the winter, that was quite an odd and unusual coincidence. We all felt that the ladybug must hold a message for us. Below is the information which I gathered and share with my sisters. The name ladybug finds its origins in the Middle Ages when this beetle was dedicated to the Virgin Mary and called the ‘beetle of our Lady’. This name links the ladybug to spiritual ideals and religious devotion. It also holds a link to mothers. Past lives associated with religion or the church are common for those with this animal totem ands some form of daily meditation or prayer is recommended. This tiny little beetle brings with it a powerful message. Because the life cycle of the adult ladybug is short, it teaches us how to release worries and enjoy our lives to the fullest. When it appears in our life, it is telling us to ‘let go and let God’. The ladybug is also one of the few beetles that are well liked by humans. Unlike other beetles, the ladybug brings a feeling of joy to us. Its small size signifies a delicate and loving nature. It portrays the energy of harmlessness and can show us how to stop self harm. Seen often as a messenger of promise, the ladybug reconnects us with the joy of living. Fear and joy can not co-exist. We need to release our fears and return to love – this is one of the messages that the ladybug brings us. Ladybug teaches us how to restore our trust and faith in the great spirit. When the ladybug appears, it is telling us to get out of our own way and allow the great spirit to enter into our lives.”

On September 27, 2011, jacriley41-45 reacted to this: ‘What a beautiful story about your Mum. I have attended three funerals in the past 12 months where I have found a Ladybird on two occasions on my arm during the service. The first was for a dear uncle and I remember pointing out the appearance of this beautiful ladybird to my sister who was sitting beside me in the church. The second funeral was for a beautiful young man who was a friend’s son, tragically taken at only 17 in a horrific accident. Again I had a tiny ladybird appear during the service and wondered was it coincidence or a sign. I hoped it was the latter. The third funeral, again tragic circumstances with another young man (a work colleague) this time taking his own life, but this time nothing appeared. I only really thought about the true relevance when one day at work a ladybird appeared on my desk and proceeded to climb on my hand and up my arm. I tried on several occasions to put it back on the desk but no way did it want to stay there. It was literally running at me as if it was desperate to stay with me. How bizarre. I recently read a book by medium Allison DuBois, and she knows we are sent signs from the afterlife. A very good read, I read the third book called ‘Secrets of the Monarch’. I will have to read the previous ones now. She is coming to Melbourne next Feb so I can’t wait to see her then at a seminar. I would love to find out who my ladybird is. I have a suspicion she may be my Step-Grandmother, who passed away two years ago. I can only hope. XXXX.’

Our financial recovery hasn’t been as successful as our house is in foreclosure. Recently, through some spiritual studies and meditation we have gotten tremendous revelations. The bedroom windows face my side of the bed and for the longest, I have noticed Ladybugs crawling on the outside screen and on the sill as well as the ceiling of my wife’s side of the bedroom. The other day one landed on my right shoulder. All along, even though I am ever faithful, I have been asking God to show me a sign. Little did I know they were facing me every morning as I swung my feet out of the bed, staring at them in the morning sun. My wife decided to Google it and discovered this site along with some other info. We had just recently discovered that God wanted us to let our ‘Higher Selves’ (the God Within) handle our problems. This is the same philosophy of ‘Let Go and Let God’. Since we have adopted this philosophy, our life has begun to change dramatically. We know that we are getting better and better every day in every way. God bless his Ladybugs… and a double blessing to whoever reads this testimony.’

She was very distinct. I picked her up looking at her, letting her walk on me for a few minutes; for those few moments my fear was gone, or at least on the back burner. My husband took her, went all the way down to the ground floor, out the front doors, and let her go, watching her fly off, then came back up. Ten minutes later, there, on the same spot on my blanket, was the same ladybug, I knew right away due to her unusual markings. We went through the same process. One more time after that, ten minutes, same ladybug, same process. I was still scared, but deep down, I knew somehow it would be all right. I survived a surgery no one thought I’d survive, was diagnosed with, and survived brain cancer. To this day, I have never forgotten my little ladybug friend and the strength of spirit she shared with me.’

It comes the day after me and my husband concluded that God was trying to shut down our old life and the business. We had been struggling on but every time we did something we would get nothing so clearly that we both concluded that it was just too coincidental that everything felt dead. We have been asking God to speak to us. Your post helped, we will stop worrying and hear the voice that a new era has begun. God bless you.’
