THE NEW RABOTNIK (167): Dirk van Weelden S MOBILHOME preceded Rirkrit Tiravanija
Gepubliceerd op 19 dec. 2017
Years before Nicolas Bourriaud published his Relational Art Manifesto, Jacques Tati made his film Traffic, 1971, and Dirk van Weelden published his novel Mobilhome, 1991. Two milestones in the genesis of the Relational Art, an Art movement that dominated the nineties and the first decade of our age. Now the inspiration is over, the glamour has gone.
In the Amsterdam Mediamatic, Dirk, with Victor & Olivier, finished his Artists trail in the de(con)struction of A Fiat PANDA car. In New York, in the Gavin Brown Enterprise Gallery, Rirkrit Tiravanija deconstructed, better desecrated, Rainer Werner Fassbinder S film “Angst essen alle Seelen auf“.
A report.
