In 1998 werd een artikel gepubliceerd in The Lancet door artsen Andrew Wakefield en Walker Smith, die waarschuwden voor een mogelijk verband tussen het drievoudige vaccin MMR (Mazelen | Bof | Rubella Vaccin) en autisme. De Amerikaanse acteur Robert de Niro wilde deze film tonen op het Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Een enorme mediastorm dwong de acteur echter om de film terug te trekken. Sinds 2016 proberen “schijnbaar professioneel georganiseerde protesten” de educatieve film “VAXXED” aan de publieke opinie te onthouden. Maar de triomf van de waarheid kan niet gestopt worden.
